@impcookie The timber didn't come from any rainforest. It was sustainably-managed Swedish wood (mostly pine) from Sweden's vast plantation forests. The timber was loaded at a Swedish port and was heading for Egypt when it got into difficulties due to bad weather.
It only took a few seconds to find this out by googling the net :)
