@nicksfan1 Martina Hingis won ITF girls Champion at age 12 in 1994(allowed players up to 18). Her last major tournament win was mixed Doubles at Australia open in 2006.

@hydrolito :) Mauresmo was number one, won wimbledon and the Australian Open in 2006, beating Henin in both. Not one of the GOATs but still a great player. You should watch her match vs henin at wimbledon 2006, it's a beautiful final, with a lot of serve and volleys, variety, etc... they both had stunning one handed backhands.

@juju1305 Never mind telling me about Mauresemo I looked it up on Wikipedia, guess I haven't kept up with tennis as I didn't recall hearing of her.

Venus Williams before Henin ? Davenport before Sharapova ? WTF !
-
Venus before Justine ????

the fact that Hingis who really only played top tennis from 2000-2002 and is number 10 shows just how amazingly consistent she was during those 5 years...
man though this list is so crap compared to the others, Tennis lost it's soul when it became ball bashing boringness...
LOL...how does Clijsters with 2 slams is above players like Sharapova, Capriati and Davenport, who have 3 of them? I call BS

@kimskis Mainly cause Clijsters made so many finals, and semi-finals. If this list was just about Grand Slam wins, you could just look it it up on Wikipedia, thats why i factored in runner-up performances and so on.

@ihatebsb hmm, i might but i don't think it will be any time soon, but i've done lists for both genders for the 70's 80's and 90's.
