  • That's amazing. I didn't even know that something like this is possible.

  • Blue Angels no longer do JATO take-offs with Fat Albert has nothing to do with Obama. It has to do with, no one makes the JATO bottles anymore, and they are one and done type bottles(can't be refilled) There is a limited supply left. So The Blues were restricted from using them to allow the supply to be used where needed. On the ice. The NY ANG unit that deploys to Antarctica needs them for take-offs there for certain missions.

  • so cool...would like to see some bigger rockets though

  • @P3SuperBee Any reason that the US isn't manufacturing anymore bottles?

  • @nosajj12345 Are you retarded? If the nose was straight up it would be climbing at a 90 degree angle, moron.

  • I remeber walking up to the airshow in Pittsburgh a few years back just as this thing fired the rockets and took off. It was fuckin amazing to see.

  • They don't hav jato anymore :(

  • I saw Fat Albert take off by this method on one occasion at an air show. I had no idea about the rockets, so when the went off and that thing angled up to 45(+) degrees with all the noise put out by those rockets it was quite spectacular.

If you ever get the chance to see it in person definitely do it. While these videos are great they're nothing compared to the real thing.

  • @Ike1727 well yeah that's what an AC-130 is but those guns (the 105mm, 40mm, and 2 mini-guns) mounted on there weigh a lot, plus all the ammunition. Probably too much for that particular plane because an AC-130 is a gutted C-130 with some heavy fire power and targeting computers.

  • FAT FUCK ALBERT
