Now, in my opinion.....Greyhounds are bred to chase little tiny furrballs around. SO what happens when a Greyhound sees a little furball at the park? well, if not trained......he's gonna play with it.

BARRINGTON, R.I. -- The police are investigating after a greyhound allegedly attacked and killed a 6-month old puppy in front of its horrified owner at the Barrington Dog Park late Thursday afternoon.

The puppy's owner, Kristyn Sousa of Attleboro, said she had taken her Pomeranian-poodle mix to the dog park, located behind the baseball fields in Haines Park, because "I was trying to do the best thing for him" and thought it was a safe place for her dog to socialize.

Bear Sousa said she and her boyfriend, Ricardo Massa, had been at the park about 10 minutes when her dog, Bear, was attacked.

"There were a bunch of owners around me, and my dog was at my feet, when out of the blue this big greyhound jumped in front of us and bit my dog in the back of the neck," Sousa said. "It was horrible. I was trying to get my puppy out of this dog's mouth, but it wouldn't let go."

Sousa said she and her boyfriend were quickly surrounded by at least 10 other dogs during the attack. It took several minutes before other dog owners were able to restrain their animals.

And it was several more minutes before the greyhound finally released her pet, Sousa said. Her dog suffered bite wounds to its chest.

Sousa said she and another woman raced from the dog park to the Riverside Animal Hospital, where the dog was pronounced dead.

Police Chief John LaCross said Friday that a vicious-dog hearing is planned to allow the owners of both dogs to tell their side of the story.

  • @488scooby Wow! You really are a mature gentleman. To answer your questions, the sweater is from Old Navy.

I would love to meet you also. I would love to travel back over to Britain, I miss it there.

Why do you care what some "prick" in America thinks about Greyhounds? Are you just THAT insecure?

Just like the music. I'll agree with you on Tiesto, but I don't like Pete Tong's music.

    Cheers!

  • No, I work with greyhounds every weekend with the Retired Greyhound Trust and greyhounds and truly the most wonderful breed of dogs. This is an unfortunate situation, but why was the greyhound off the lead if he couldn't be trusted with other dogs? BLAME THE OWNER, the dog can only learn if he is taught properly. greyhounds are not vicious animals.

  • greyhounds are the best pet nyone can ever have......y talk talk shiit

  • I'am a greyhound owner so i have three point to put to everyone

    1. greyhounds are trained to chase small fluffy animals

    2. when you get your greyhound you are told NEVER let it of the the lead out of the home

    3. you are also told if you are going out and you know there will be other animals around in close quarters to ALWAYS put a muzzle on it !!!

no such thing as bad breeds just bad owners!!!!!!!

  • @LordBizarre112233 And to answer your question. Yes, I was showing a picture of a Greyhound bearing his teeth while reading a newspaper article about a Greyhound attack to show how easy it is for the "media" to misrepresent a breed.

  • @LordBizarre112233 Glad to hear this!!!

Now, you're getting just a taste of what pit bull owners have to go through every time we take our dogs for a walk.

And yes, it was a pissing contest the first year I did this, but now it's all about showing the public other breed attacks because the media won't, and letting YOU see how big problem of dog attacks really is.

My children have their own feelings. They have pit bulls here, and a German Shepherd at their dads house. They love all of them.

  • @FUzupf What I can see is that you're deliberately misrepresenting a breed and giving reports without any context. It's irresponsible, especially because this is apparently some online pissing contest between you and some stranger over pitbulls. You should be ashamed of yourself; what kind of example are you setting for your child?

I had more to say, but you've friend blocked all private messages.

  • @LordBizarre112233 Why do you say, "other vicious breeds?" There are no, "vicious" breeds.

    Brainwashing is:

    1. "any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, especially one based on repetition or confusion"

    2. "a method for systematically changing attitudes or altering beliefs"

    Need I say anymore?

  • @FUzupf Alright, so why are you apparently trying portray them as vicious killing machines? Lemme guess, it's part of your reverse psychology campaign whereby if people know about other vicious breeds they'll somehow stop thinking that Pitbulls are vicious, huh?

  • @LordBizarre112233 Absolutely nothing. I think Greyhounds are cool dogs. I think it's rad they're the fastest dog out there.

  • What do you have against greyhounds, seriously?
