Not a disorder? Tell that to the 1 in 88 children who get diagnosed every year. Tell that to the families who struggle with services and support for their children. Tell that to the parents and caregivers who sacrifice everything for these children. Tell that to every parent that has had to leave a grocery store, mid-shopping, because of a meltdown. Tell that to the parents too afraid to take their child out to eat, because of the dirty looks they get when said child doesn't 'act properly'.

all so true. people thought i was just dumb. till i tested at a collage level with no education at the age of 12 and tested out of high school early after not going to high school. i just wanted a diploma. i cant hardly spell or be social but i have gotten married and have 4 children, one whom i've passed autism to. he cant talk but he types,reads,say his abc's backwards,sing,memorize dance, and so much more....thank you for educating people. it makes things easier for all of us.
