  • This is fuxking amazing, far from the best technical but he has a focking nice groove and sense for melody and tone-selections.Realy like da percussion to. And with the upgrade of the bushes your head and face used to be covered with i guess the wimen trows there porckshop after you ;) If you ever need someone to carry your guitarcase mail me! I like porkchops to!

  • No. tuning is, W T F O M G.

  • To paraphrase the movie Top Gun, "Michael Hedges was number one, he bought, turned in his guitar, now YOU are number one!" Seriously, Don Ross has got to be the worlds best guitarist at this point in time. Yes, I've heard Andy, Jimmy, Tommy and the rest, and they're ALL fantastic, but I think Don RULES!

  • this song sounds wayyy better when a guitar sings it

  • @Grouchomx If you think the "classic essence of the instrument" is "limit yourself by a standard tuning and picking regime" then you are thinking inside of a very, very tiny box. These musicians (most on candyrat) think outside the box, and do it beautifully. It's not a contest, they are doing what they love and most of us are loving it!

And those "parlor tricks" are called "play style". Do you have one of your own? It's not that hard when you practice ^.^

  • I'm not trying to be argumentative either. My point is simply that it would be nice to find a new guitarist with this level of talent who plays in a more traditional way. It just seems all of Candyrat plays this way and it's a bit repetitive...

  • @Grouchomx I'll try my best to make a valid point and not sound like a douche, but who cares about the tuning and playing style? Isn't it all about the music?

  • @Grouchomx I dont want to get in an argument, since arguments on youtube are pointless, but maybe the problem is your inability to accept any other style of guitar playing, other than classical, as a valid form of entertainment. Where would we be if everyone played with the same style? It would get boring very quickly. Don is not taking away from the classical essence, he is adding so much more to it.

  • AWESOME !!!!!!

  • @JeffSGeorge I'm referring to generations of guitarists; too many to mention who can play in standard tuning and don't need to resort to parlor tricks to impress everyone. I'm not saying this stuff is terrible, I'm saying this style of playing is getting a little old and taking away from the classic essence of the instrument.
