My previous video of Scud Race on the 32-bit build of Supermodel v2 had noticeably jumpy audio on the Beginner Night Stage due to the video capture. Here's how it should look and sound running on the 64-bit build with no audio jitteriness at all. My driving leaves a lot to be desired in this video, but my excuse is that I'm only using the trial version of Fraps, which limits your videos to 30 secs maximum length (I splice them together in Windows movie maker), which means I've got to keep taking one hand off the steering wheel to hit the video capture key.

There are few bits at the end where it looks like the graphics go a bit weird. That's not the emulator or the original video but a bit of added funkiness YouTube seems to have added in (I've had this on some other videos as well).

My Pc stats:
Intel core i5-2310, 8 Gb
Nvidia GeForce GT530 -1GB

  • How do you insert a coin? I am able to get the game running, but cannot insert coin in v2 with the 3 or 4 key : (

  • @SoulSnatching I don't now why that isn't working for you, pressing 3 should insert coin. You might need to manually configure your inputs. The 'Read me' file in your Supermodel folder explains how to do this. TBH though, you're better off playing this with either a joypad or wheel rather than keyboard.

  • this game came out in NINETEEN NINETY SIX!!!

  • @MahdiY Pretty amazing to think how old it is really, it can still easily give contemporary racers a run for their money graphics-wise.

  • @exile101 Doh, that should've said change the extension at the end of the file to .bat not .ini

  • when i saw this game i was 17 i was fucking blow away and now i look this game and still is look great 1996 fuck 16 years after and this game looks ace thanks to the consoles and the magnificent hardware of sega model 3 step 1.5

  • @exile101 Create a text file in your Supermodel file (right click>New>Text Document) add the commands you want Supermodel to run with (e.g. supermodel daytona2.zip -input-system=dinput -force-feedback -fullscreen -no-throttle -ppc-frequency=50-music-volume=170 -sound-volume=100 -res=1024,768) then save the file and change the extension at the end to .ini from .txt and voilia your very own bat file.

  • @MrThunderwing Hey I got star wars running with all the settings i like can you tell me how to create a bat file so i dont have to go through the cmd to start everything

  • Thx for the tips. After looking at the very helpful forum I came to the conclusion that it my weak-ass graphics card holding me back.

    XP -32 sp3

    Cpu - E8400 @3.00

4G Ram (all the motherboard can take)

ATI Raedon HD 2400 pro (V.old and I'm poor!)

running 800x600 I am getting between 20-40 fps on normal and 15-25 on the night and indoor stages.

I'm just so happy that I am able to play this again!

  • @Tatsunoko79 I use the following command 'supermodel -force-feedback -fullscreen -show-fps -no-throttle -ppc-frequency=50 -music-volume=200 -sound-volume=50 -res=1024,768 scud.zip'. I've actually got that saved as a .bat file now, so I can just click on it in the Supermodel folder and it launches the game with all those settings. If you check out the Supermodel forum, there a few threads dedicated to squeezing more fps out of your system, may come in handy for you.

  • What CMD line settings do you run for this - I guess that I'm running 32bit build - so will never get it running this good! - Top Work indeed
