  • The way you say Morse and Qwerty is strange:

    Morris and Kooerty, respectively.

  • You didn't morse quick enough my friend! If you were a 40/50WPM guy, you would have won that no problemski. I can't morse that quick, but there are people that can.... crazy world! 73 DE Mike M0SAZ

  • I know some O.M's that can send BOOKS of code, much faster than texting. It's a dying art, Don't let it go Hams!

  • Mores code and Kwererty oh Really?

  • fail, you should change your major. Consider truck driving because this "scientific" test had as much "science" in it as baked potatoes left in the oven too long.

  • The Jay Leno test, was performed by pros of morse code, that can send almost 60 Words per minutes. That is fast compared to SMS on a blackberry with a full keyboard. A true scientific test would be to send a morse code to a receiving computer with the appropriat software that can count the exact WPM and even the right count for Caracters per Minutes.

  • Do you need a dingleberry to fart in Morse code?

  • Hey Mr. Narrator: What the HELL is morris code? It's M-O-R-S-E code, brainiac.

  • You should compare apples to apples: someone who uses morse code daily (and thus is faster at it). Either that, or compare it to someone who uses sms texting casually maybe once a week. This comparison you made wasn't either of that.

Jay Leno at least tried: he compared a texting champion to two old farts who were fairly good at morse code - ie hardly to morse code's advantage - and it still won. To be fair, he should have chosen two morse code champions. He didn't, and morse code still won.

  • That one minute it took you to send at what sounded like maybe 18wpm can be cut down tremendously sending at 30-50wpm. A considerable difference to factor in. Average person is sending at least 23-25wpm so maybe you guys can try it again at a higher speed for an alternative possibility to see what the results are at much higher speeds. Interesting vid though!
