great observation about them sounding like the Ramones...they do indeed on some of the early stuff. You can hear a lot of early punk influences. SOme people have trouble seeing the link between bands liek the Ramones and Sonic Youth. But a lot of Wipers songs have that atonality like some early Sonic Youth songs. The Wipers serve as an important link between the early punk bands and band like SOnic Youth, DInosaur Jr., Husker Du, Nirvana, Mudhoney & the Pixies
