Traditional; translated by Sara L. McClintock and Tsepak Rigzin
This traditional song from Lhasa, which is sung in the Töshae style, praises the central protector deity of the people and land of Tibet, the goddess Palden Lhamo.
Oh my, oh my!
If only I could see Lhasa
From the Gampa Pass,
Ah, well.
If only I could see the Goddess
Palden Lhamo from the pass!
By Gampa Pass, best of mountains,
I am reminded of the mountain ranges.
By my kind mother and father, best of relations,
I am reminded of my ancestral lineage
p.s.
In the live performance Techung sang a different verse for the Truk Shae or the fast part but it should be sung
gam pa la moe tso che, ri le ri gu ten chung
