High fructose corn syrup is used as a sweetener for many popular foods, but recently there has been a push to replace it by going back to sugar. Michelle Miller has the story.

  • I don't want to eat Fructose. That's my consumer trend. START REMOVING IT FROM THE FOODS I BUY!

  • I agree: HFCS, MSG, and Trans/Saturated fats are the worst things you can put inside your body.

  • FUCK YOU MICHAEL! SHUT THE HELL UP AND GO CASH THAT CHECK THEY GAVE YOU! I HATE CORN SYRUP AND I WONT BUY ANYTHING WITH IT!

  • @CornRefinersAssoc Research confirms this? High Fructose Corn Syrup which has chemical compound C12H22O11 has been linked to colon cancer, and has shown a high content of mercury in diary and regular HFCS like syrups, ketchup, soda, sugar. This is awful and to say it is made from corn is an exaggeration AT BEST. This is basically a drastic artificial DANGEROUS compound. Get the facts before you put out this ignorant propaganda and call it "SAFE".

  • The problem is the word HIGH... Which I direct more than our body can handle... One spon of regular sugar is less dangerous then one spone of High F C Syrup... Since when is it needed in Bred and so forth...

  • @poindexterwitkowsky You clearly didn't even WATCH this video. You're just going around to different HFCS videos and posting this. Maybe if you actually WATCHED this video, you would understand.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky Yes but table sugar contains nearly the same amount of fructose as HFCS. Sugar is 50% glucose and 50% fructose. The 2 most common types of HFCS used in commercial preparations are 55% fructose/45% glucose and 42% fructose/58% glucose. See? Nearly exactly the same as table sugar. In fact, check that out, HFCS42 has LESS fructose than table sugar. I'm not saying HFCS is good for you, I'm saying that FRUCTOSE is not the enemy here. All sugars are bad for you.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky I love it that you are adding this comment to videos about HFCS. People need to know.

  • It makes people fat, is that the problem? If I don't get fat is it okay to eat?

  • When too much FRUCTOSE enters the body, the liver cannot process it fast enough for the body to be able to use it as sugar.Too much FRUCTOSE leads to Type 2 Diabetes,OBESITY & HEART DISEASE. Since the 70's percentage increases in DIABETES have been DIRECTLY proportional to increases in FRUCTOSE market share. The U.S. provides agribusiness with CORPORATE WELFARE so fructose remains inexpensive. FRIEDMANITE FASCIST REPUBLICANS would call this "PRIVATIZING profits & socializing losses".
