I disagree...everyone has a natural vibrato, however, it is possible to sing straight without ruining one's voice. After all, most of today's music artists sing without it and have very long careers. The trick is in knowing how to breathe and support the voice correctly.
And I wasn't referring to either of the soloists, only to the one or two, very obvious and loud vibratos in the choir. Since this is a team effort, the idea is to listen and blend with the people around you, not to stick out.
They all look miserable... They needed to smile. or have some expression on their faces.

i think they sound amazing and vibrato is a good thing because it means you are relaxed not tensed up and tight at the vocals.

The first was an alto solo. The second was a soprano solo and much higher. I'm not sure the first soloist could have reached it effectively

Although they were all good (GO GLENDALE CHOIR!) I kinda wish te first soloist sang the entire solo.
