At the May 12, 2009 meeting of the Novato City Council, a member of our group asked the City of Novato, California to require that the new employees of the city, and the new employees of its contractors and subcontractors, have their eligibility to work in our country checked by the E-Verify system.
E-Verify is a free federal website that performs these checks with an accuracy rate of 99.5%.
