  • A lovely festival of the old AL type locos, and the 87s in their original liveries with the old scisor type pantos. Nice surprise to see the APT in there too!

  • Thanks for your comments Soundseeker. At the time I can recall being disappointed there were so many electrics and werent any class 40s. But at the time, I didnt realise how lucky I was. I do now! Unfortunately, I was very slow to pick up a video camera and its only in the last 10 years that Ive taken moving piccies. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...!

  • Hi Legoman! Thanks for the comment. Couldnt agree with you more about a golden age. Yes I took them all myself on the day at one of my favourite railway locations. Set off at 5am, cycled from my home into Glasgow then got the train down to Lanark and cycled from there. I noticed whilst travelling past the location last month on a train that the dreaded Network Rail fencing has gone up along the boundary now. Shame! Ill post some from other vists between Beattock and Lamington when I get a chance
