Nice footage!

Awesome Video!!! I can see why this place is 1 of the best places to Railfan. There are not to many places where a Train can " Loop " itself !

Nice wood pecker in the video. lol
I dream of going there one day...
-
very entertaining, this aussie may one day go there and see for himself...
-
classic masterpiece

One more note, the Tehachapi loop goes back to the 1800's, right? Second greatest train engineering feat after the transcontinental railroad?
Thanks, trackandtrain

I love to call Tehachapi Te-hatch-a-poop, sorry if the humor is too guttural. Last year on the way back from Death Valley I spent a day parked inside the Tehachapoop loop. I like your comment at 3:33, I watched a farmer pulling a long horse trailer pull in front of a train descending into the loop do the same thing. He missed by 100 feet, the train didn't even try to stop -- it would have derailed the train. Thank God for Operation Lifesaver.
