So much for subtle seduction.

George London's voice had me jump in my seat when it started. Wow...he's a great baritone x.xU

@Azzenstudent Not sure how you can say they sang coarsely here. It's the recording....Perception problem?

London had to have had the greatest instrument for singer ever.

@Azzenstudent Firstly the recording is at least 50 yrs old as George London no longer sang after his illness in the late 60s. George London was an excellent Mozart singer and was part of the legendary "Wiener Ensemble" of the late 40 and 50s at the Vienna State Opera and he was one of the greatest Don Giovannis in both German and Italian. Also this recording is sadly distorted and has nothing to do with their excellent vocal quality. Finally George London was seriously ill from 1964 onwards.

¡¡¡Magnifico London, Gran Don Giovanni!!!, en una de sus Grandes Creaciones y
con una Zerlina, como la hermosicima Moffo, de lujo.

Interesting artifact from 40 years ago. Neither singer is a great Mozartian and they sing so coarsely here that I had to turn the sound down. I generally adore Moffo but her mugging here is borderline camp. On stage, Moffo could be very effective but TV tends to amplify mannerisms so it's best to hold back somewhat. Schwarzkopf had a similar problem and it made her look unnecessarily cloying and coquettish. London's voice is big and loud and, at this late date, not much else.

This audio track is almost damaged, the level of audio signal was overdriven, and voices are distorted... Damn to fool engineer!
