Um, Indians WERE enslaved...and weren't too wise and clever not to be. What kind of statement was that? Implying Africans weren't clever? Of course they were...but they were sold from kingdoms who formed economic alliances with the colonizers to procure slaves. White men died there...that's why they needed Africans to get slaves...there have been slaves for thousands of years in Africa. Get real. And I'm Indian too...so don't go there.

he didn't say or mean the blacks weren't clever. He was just saying that the Indians knew the terrain and the environment favored them. You and I both know that there was a lot of disconnect formed from surviving the long haul in the ships from Africa and then being in a land that was totally foreign. As it was there was a policy to exterminate Indian tribes. The state of California had money that was allocated just to pay anyone who would turn in a dead Indian.

Indians were not "prepped" for enslavment as Black Africans were.Check the dictionary; you will see "clever" also carries the meaning of "good health".
