You would not like to get in to a heated debate with this MP. This is how he answers in the most all due respectful unparliamentary language.

  • They are TD's in Ireland not MP's

  • @classf50 if you're being fussy, there's no apostrophe in MPs or TDs. And the uploader was American, not British.

  • @jwood36 Thanks. My point is that the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland opposed the 15th Amendment, and it barely passed. The church must think a woman should be compelled to submit to a philandering drunken bully and have no recourse. Yet, here in the United States, the church tells people divorce is not a sin, that remarriage might be, but for the right fee and procedure, it will fix you up with a decree of nullity so that you can marry again in church. What a bunch of hypocrites.

  • @mindspring57 15 years ago is hardly recent, plus you can't change everything overnight, that shouldn't or wouldn't happen. Apologies for assuming you were English but having said that people in glass houses etc, the ignorance of most (by no means all) Americans is staggering and frightening given the vast wealth power and influence the country holds.

  • @jwood36 If the Catholic church lost its grip "40 years ago," please explain why Ireland only recently legalized divorce. I am not English (I am a U.S. citizen), so I do not know if or whether the English are, or should be, embarrassed about their lack of history. The problem we Americans have is that some of us do not think England has advanced from 1776.

  • Paul Gogarty's an idiot for that comment, does he not realise Deputy Stagg would fuck him

  • @mindspring57 The Catholic church lost it's grip on Ireland 40 years ago (try watching Newsnight or John Craven's newsround once in awhile) and no the Irish wouldn't speak English if it wasn't for the English forcing them too you fucking moron.

Are you not embarrassed that most of the population in the civilised world know more about English history than the English themselves?

  • Well, this is the Irish, a country that is in complete submission to the pedophile protection racket (oops, I mean the Roman Catholic church). Left to their own devices, the Irish would not even speak English.
