There is something to be said about making an entire song based on one particular line in a movie.
It's another undertaking all together to take that song about one moment in a movie and make an entire music video about that scene using that song as the background music and only footage that pertains to that line specifically.
But I do that here with some real movie making undertones. Being untrained in the art of movie making I'm not sure exactly what these elements are called but here goes my explanation ...
First off, the video starts by laying down the situation already in progress ... the people are running out of air and they need help.
The name of the song is "Give these people air" so that is a very fitting beginning I thought.
Then the music hits. From the very first time I heard this song I always thought the beginning of this song sounded like a situation was being laid down so I do just that.
The fans are shutting down creating the very issue of the song title. It ends with the little girl ... helpless. These people need air!
COME ON COHAAGEN -- The actual words are mouthed by Quaid, Cohaagen shown.
YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT -- Scene showing Quaid captured (what he wanted)
GIVE THESE PEOPLE AIR -- The actual words are mouthed by Quaid again.
YOU'VE ALREADY CAPTURED ME -- Continues the scene of him having been captured.
WHY TAKE THIS ANY FURTHER, EVERYTHING IS WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BE, COME ON COHAAGEN, YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT -- Just scenes that continue the action in progress. It could be said that everything being where he wants it to be is Quaid in lock down which concludes with the end of that sentence.
Lots of great timing here including when the mind control things are put in place.
COULD YOU BE MORE EVIL, THEN TO KILL THEM NEEDLESSLY -- Scene of Cohaagen looking at the people suffering that he doesn't care about on the teevee.
BY THE END OF THIS MOVIE YOU WILL BE BEGGING ON YOUR KNEES -- Scene from the end of the movie that I added as one of the last ideas I had where it shows him begging but more importantly sets up for the climactic scene later. I show the hand print that starts the "air" and Quad crawling for it. This switch is shown several times throughout the epic as it is a point of interest in the limited scope of the video.
YOU WILL BE BEGGING -- Scene of Cohaagen begging.
ON YOUR KNEES -- Just a continuation of the action but when word knees is screamed it cuts back to Quaid in the chair (the main scene we were following)
WHY WOULD YOU KILL THEM NEEDLESSLY -- Scene of Richter getting the order "Do it" and the scene of him shutting the door which shuts out the air
COME ON COHAAGEN YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT GIVE THESE PEOPLE AIR -- Back to the scene we were following.
The song repeats the line over a couple times and the scene we have been following finishes up just before going into the next phase of that scene in the movie.
I never show Melina on purpose because the video isn't about her at all.
There is some great timing done to the hits on the scientists and stab at the end of scene.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAH -- The song bridges and we are reminded of the plight of the video ... these people have no air.
COME ON COHAAGEN YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT GIVE THESE PEOPLE -- A long slow shot down the hallway littered with people that have no air ... ending at the switched off fan which fades to a scene from Quaids mind of the hand print when the lyric says "AIR"
IN FIVE MINUTES I WILL STILL REMEMBER THAT RICHTER PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE -- Flash back to the scene of Quaid getting punched in the face.
MOST OF ALL I PROMISE YOU, I WILL COME KICK YOUR ACE -- Scene after the punch where Quaids eyes look like he's thinking the lyric.
JUST GIVE THESE PEOPLE ... JUST GIVE THESE PEOPLE -- The scene builds up with the lyrics and tone of the song. Quaid is making his last effort.
AAIRRRRR -- The scene of Quaid hitting the handprint button (This was one of my very first video ideas and much of the video was built from this scene)
The steps of the machine turning on are timed perfectly to the music by the way.
COME ON COHAAGEN YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT GIVE THESE PEOPLE AIR -- The song repeats this line over and over as the people (shown) get their air ... the air breaking the glass is timed to a cymbal crash after he says it, as well as most things happening at this point.
Various shots of the air breaking through and the people getting it ending with the scene of the air filling the atmosphere.
Final shot ... the people. They have their air. The entire point of the song, the line that inspired the song and the video inspired by the song.
what band is this dude? Sounds like thrash/death metal

@jacobshellgim
It's Austrian Death Machine ... I was inspired to make a video when I heard "I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle" and I guess I just kept going ...
