All he cares about is killing, so a blade is all his zanpakuto will never be and need to be. He doesn't know it's name because it doesn't have a name. A soul reapers duty is to protect souls and purify hollows. He does neither. He is unfit to be a soul reaper so he doesn't really have a zanpakuto, only an asauchi.
