Lock On (LOMAC) Tutorial - Introductory Ground Attack Mission in the A-10 (Part 1 of 3)

Part 1 of an introductory flight in the A-10. While not a tutorial per se, this is the flight of a basic mission that includes many of the systems and controls you will be using whenever you hop in the cockpit. From taxiing and take-off to an ILS landing, with everything from navigation to weapon control in between.

While I won't be explaining how to do things, I will be giving a running, real-time commentary as I fly the mission. Consider this the accumulation of everything you can learn in shorter tutorial videos that will follow this video.

I will be discussing in depth all aspects of flight, including take-offs and navigation, weapon systems controls, evasion, and ILS landings in a variety of weather conditions, so stay tuned for more!

You can purchase the game from the official website, which I believe has a download option once you have paid for it. That's certainly the case for the flaming cliffs expansion. As for the original, I bought mine in a CD format - not sure if you can buy and download it, check the official site.

How to recognize a SAM system in a column before getting to close? I have that problem, i have to be real close to target to see in the mfd (already zoomed in) if its a SAM system. So close they will fire missiles at me before I recognize what kind of system it is.

my biggest complains? lack of a VOICED INTERACTIVE tutorial. its frustrating to try and learn from those lousy lengthy videos, playing them again in case you missed or forgot something

secondly, the inability to use the cockpit with the mouse. i really prefer not to burn my brain memorizing every single button combination.
