So personal theories oh..

I like the voodoo priestess one. The idea that it might be the little girl's father (still a shadowman though) looking out for his daughter.

The idea that he is waiting to strike is almost ludicrous, she's seen him before to have an idea he's there. He's a scarer or very patient.

The idea that he's a construct of belief is quite scary. Like on the -third- look, the mother started to think maybe something was there more fearful each time, so he was there.

Feel like the reveal ruined this. It's a good premise, nicely shot and set-up, but I think I'd have been more scared if when she looked the last time, you saw her looking nervous and kept the heavy piano sound, then just had her do the rest of the scene. My brain would have scared the crap out of me, wondering what she'd seen and filling in the blank with something 10x worse than what we were actually shown.
