Playing with the outstanding Begali HST "Silver Bullet", the retail version.
I know there are some mistakes (example la7y / lazy) but this video shows you what the key is able to do, with its perfect mechanics. I am saying

"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. It has been used to test typewriters and computer keyboards and lately cw keys TU DE ik0ygj TU SU"

  • Nice sending! I was able to follow along pretty good with you. lost me a couple times as it's a little fast for me but was able to pick it back up.

    73's

  • Abt 3 times too fast for me to copy...

    73...

  • I did not know that you are using the cheating "Paris"-system while counting your results (you did not specify it). I always used the absolute system (ch/minutes), as the most reliable way of speed-counting. I was taught that way and, and it is used in speed-competitions in many countries.

  • It does not mean that all sportsmen in those countries are incompetent or unskilled. For instance, in this example your absolute speed is 186ch/m or 37 w/p. Its quite easy: just count how many words you transmitted in 1 minute. Of course, if we take the "SIS", TET or "EEEEE"-system, then we can squeeze more words into 1 minute...:). The same thing with PARIS.

  • The thing is that the length of the characters varies significantly and Paris-system does not correspond to the true equivalent of the average 5-character group in radiogram (not to speak of a notional text) . But OK, let's assume you are using Paris standard. This system is based on the number of milliseconds required for each element of a word + interword space. It's nice, but its OK for a machine.

  • E.g. your hand-transmitting does not hold those milliseconds precisely. Your units (interword space, intercharacter space) are longer(!) then the standard Paris Conference units. E.g. if we take your text and count speed by the Paris system, then for the speed 50 W/P this text should be transmitted in 29 seconds.

  • (You can use any Morse-generator to check it out). You do it in 37 seconds, that according to the cheating Paris-system - 220ch/minute or 44 W/P. And your absolute true speed - 37 w/p. So, if you edit your title and put 44 w/p in Paris-standard then it will be true and still very respectable result. Take care and 73!

  • Thank you for not covering the key with the left hand. The video looks great.
