I don't want to buy 10-100 dollar software online and then spend hours downloading it. If they drop support for discs and companies stop making discs, then I'd stop buying software on OS X.

The way the world is moving today, I would say that Blu Ray and DVD's will only be around for about another two possibly three years, because everybody stream or either download HD quality videos.

I prefer a Blu-Ray movie on my HDTV than watching an HD movie on my Mac that I bought on iTunes or in any digital format any day. I think the picture and sound quality is better, it has more features and it is a physical copy I can hold at night or take to a friends house. Going disc less is convenient but I really like Blu-Ray.

My question is, if you're willing to pay for all the movie collections, wouldn't you be watching them on a bigger TV? Not everyone watches blu ray movies on computers and if you want the disc, you can always get an external drive. There's no need for apple to make their computer more expensive than they are now for something that a fraction of their customers want.
