So much woodwork is done by machine.
Every so often there is this piece of wood that is just crying out to be something a little different.
Walnut root, ash burr and horse chestnut burr.
The ball is a stone composite.

  • beautiful art!

  • Im not sure if Buckeye grows in the uk or if its under a different name, but the block was horse chestnut burr.

as you said , one beautiful block - i was given it by a friend who saved it from being buried - i suppose there must have been 15 cubic feet or thereabouts in big chunks.

  • That is one beautiful block of wood! (the one with the ball on it... Buckeye?)

  • the first one looks like a cup guard

  • I was just gonna say... Nice bedpan!

  • Man ... I love your bowls, they are simply amazing.

  • @RobertSrsan

    Many thanks.

Takes a very long time to do a decent job - and is difficult to sell.

  • beautiful and heavy to makes, nice work man.

  • @HowdySox What a perfect thing to say - many thanks - i would like to respond in a like manner - we need people who really appreciate what we do - it makes everything worthwhile.
