A quick and (funny) way to get some more MHz without paying another 100$ for the next-level motherboard.

  • @walp86 what do you mean water cooling "without water?"

  • @Testingpointer1

Nope, watercooling without water, the pump was accidentaly disconnected so I threw myself at the powerswitch and saved the CPU =) ...lol

But I somehow managed to kill it a year later when I was lapping the surface with an electric grinder... (clumsy) but at least I had the chance to get a E8600 for 110$ =) which is really sweet!

  • Do you know how to FLASH ASUS Striker Extreme BIOS 2002 to 1305, i tried but no luck. renamed 1305.bin (downloaded from ASUS) to 1305.rom but didnt worked can help me for the same...

  • this is X38

    maximus>>x38 BASED

  • @LordNeb i see its an old post but yeah it works.

  • Would this work with the P5e Deluxe?

the ram support is so much better on the rampage!

  • did he use a foxconn cpu cooler?

  • On a £3 CPU cooler (I'm guessing that's how rubbish it is) it's a cheap Foxconn CPU cooler, my CPU stays (C2Q Q6700) at 19C constantly in BIOS, Idle, and in-game.

GPU Idle (Around 25-30% Fan) 28C In-game max is 31 or 32C (still on Auto-Fan). Sapphire HD 5770 (New Edition) - Much better cooling than 5770 reference.

Board temps never leave 33C. (P5Q Premium).

  • possibly lol ^_^

but atleast his brave to do that^_^,..

i cant risk my system to fried ing 100c^_^,..

maybe thats how Asus stability works^_^,..

  • in Red coloured aswell, saying too hot!

I wonder what it'd be like in Windows on Crysis Max settings 8XAA.

    500C, ASUS Warning!!!

    CPU Meltdown Possible!

    ---THEN---

BSOD, CPU too cold to run!

    LOL
