Commissioned by the Royal Opera House, London, in 2004, this dance work is a prequel and sequel to Shakespeare's The Tempest. A dance diptych; it's formed of two 15 min duets. The first is Sycorax giving birth to Caliban before Shakespeare's play starts while the second is Prospero setting Ariel free at the play's close. The music is commissioned from Jules Maxwell and the design is by Jon Bausor. The work was filmed by the BBC. For more information visit www.cathymarston.com
