170,000 miles on a Benz is nothing! These tests were premature and they ruined a great car that had plenty of life left in it. What a shame.

Agreed, they ruined a GREAT car (I may be biased because I own an '89 300TE and a '95 E320 Cabrio) for no good reason. Everyone knows the 124 was a great car, they don't need to destroy a nice example of one, plenty of shit ones out there.
Hell, I would have loved that car. European 300TE? Yes please.

@revhead1996 A: I am almost certain she is paid in Great British Pounds dumbass. B: She could have easily handed the task down to another one of her lesser colleagues, the Fifth Gear people seem to number in the hundreds. C: Anyone who beats the crap out of a piece of automotive history is clearly sick in the head. D: I am sure many less fortunate families would have killed for that car. E: They could have easily got an E class from the scrap yard in poorer condition.
