President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this past week - defeating over 200 other well qualified nominees.

In this video I envoke you to think about why he may have been awarded this prize? Was it earned? Should he give it back?

  • He shouldn't give nothing back xaves,

    Did Kissinger give his back?

He has shown efforts of promoting peace, when he went to those other countries and conversed with them, he showed efforts of peace, when he ordered that Guantanamo be shut down, he has shown efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and negotiate with other countries, that even Bush could get no where with.

People criticize this man in every effort he makes fix this mess this country was left in by previous Presidents.

  • Hi lovie. Now you know I love you. But we just have to disagree on this. Consider that the deadline for sending votes to elect the Nobel Peace Prize was Feb 1st, 12 days after Obama was in office. At that time, he had not visited any foreign countries and conversed with them or done anything to strengthen international diplomacy.

  • continued: "It is because if we show ourselves willing to talk and to offer carrots and sticks in order to deal with these pressing problems, and if Iran then rejects any overtures of that sort, it puts us in a stronger position to mobilize the international community to ratchet up the pressure on Iran."

  • Lovie: you are beautiful and talented and you know I've always liked you. Let's agree to disagree on this. And I hope that this prize helps to remind Obama of all the promises and good intentions he's expressed in the past for our nation and give him the inspiration to achieve them.

  • @lovie2000 Apologizing isn't a sign of weakness. But what you apologize for may be.

  • @lovie2000 But it means the same.

  • @bdarnell1966 It has nothing to do with hate or Republicans. If Dr. Kevorkian got the peace prize I wouldn't be proud because he's an American getting it. It lends an aura of aproval to the person and what they have accomplished, or in this case are attempting.

  • @gunninlinguist But Obama is the one transforming us into a totalitarian fascist state.

  • ??? WHAT hope? WHAT change? For what??? The Nobel Peace Prize was not intended to motivate a person to do something; It is an award for something ALREADY accomplished!!! DUH!!

  • hope hope hope

    change change change

Ok now where is MY peace prize? :o)

  • I don't know what the big deal is. The Nobel Peace Prize has always been a source of humor to me. Now maybe the rest of the world will laugh at those Norwegian Bozos. Thanks for the chuckles, Peace Prize Guys.

  • Obama won bc he represents a change in momentum for a country which was taking worrying directions. Its not so much what he has done but what he will hopefully do and an encouragement to that effect an act of placation to worlds most powerful nation that until recently wasshowing alarming and real inclinations to totalitarian fascism. I think that there is a real limitation on how change he can realy implement at any one time obviously but the heart is willing to soar to the sky.

  • Well, as far as my husband and I could tell, it was the damned Europeans getting their hands in American Politics. We believe that they think now that he has this award, he will work harder toward pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Personally, political leaders should be off limits to receiving such an award until they are no longer in those positions.

  • He was simply expressing his opinion, he didn't go and say "HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT I HATE OBAMA AND HIS PRIZE! RAAA! There are so many other people who actually promaoted peace and deserve this award. The people this prize has been given to recently made the Nobel Peace Prize a joke. And, btw Obama isn't a U.S. citizen... he is a president...
