  • Is the Chinese (Mandarin?) commentary from the time the film was made?, or was it done more recently?

  • Yes. It's Mandarin. The commentary was added some time later. Not sure when, though.

  • @djackmanson I am sure the sound track was made into the film in the 80s. 1950s china did not had such audio quality.

  • Heavens to Hong Kong Phooey! As Artie Johnson used to say, "Veeeery interesting!" Cool clip! I wonder if it's true that President Nixon wanted to hug Mao when first meeting him but that Henry Kissinger advised "Please don't squeeze the Chairman"???

  • In fact Mao ZeDong is not really able to speak a proper Mandarin due to his thick Hunanese accent
