Wilmslow High School Leavers 2008 - Poem by Mrs George

A poem that Mrs George from Wilmslow High School wrote for her english class.

An Ode.

'Twas the day they were leaving
And all through the school,
Year 11 was revolting
But looking dead cool!

There's Anna Cecchini
Pink Scarf round her throat
And Chrissy as usual
with non-regulation coat.

Laura Boyd is adorned
with her crutches and her rings,
And Adam with his black hair
And emo type things.

And with their heads in a book
and not listening a bit
Are Anna and Charlotte
Hope they plan to take lit!

And who will surprise me
By some kind of fluke
And achieve a grade A?
That person is Luke.

The most stroppy student
in my stroppy set
is Matt, keen to make sure
that he wins his bet.

And our own Sam'n'Eric
Should end with A star
Will Andrew and Gavin
Be barristers at the bar?

When my computer goes wrong
Help and advice I do seek.
So I turn to Ben and Simon
My two computer geeks.

And I'm watching the film
And it's dark but what glows?
Is it the sun, is it a star?
No it's Chrissy Lees' nose.

You'll hear Ellie and Charlotte
chattering away at the back
Taking their fruit salad
and their drink from their sack.

You won't find a more versatile
student than our Bill.
If anyone will go the distance,
Our Bill will.

And who do I see canoodling
at the front of the room?
Is it Caitlin and Ben -
Their hearts are going 'boom'?

Anna Livesay's so stunning,
so tall: is she meant
For a handsome young dude
by the name of Alex Clements?

And artistic Becky,
our resident Goth,
Ignores the rest of us,
she thinks that we're toffs.

Amy and Emma
like to gossip and talk.
I can see them as teachers,
all they need is some chalk.

And Sammy and Helen,
Who both know their rights!
They'd be a feisty match
for any boy that wants to fight.

And Sophie, from Australia,
And Chris who's 'a star'.
Both of these students
will definitely go far.

And fancy having royalty
Prom king in my class!
Cameron, you've really won yourself
A really smashing lass.

Before we have finished,
I have one major fear,
To make sure Robert Briggs
has a good helping of meat.

And Jamie and Tom,
both scientists of note,
Might do well at English
They certainly get my vote.

So what can I say?
Get revising, work hard.
You've been fun to work with
Now please do me proud.
