Jupiter is a big full up 10.3hh shetland pony gelding for loan over the summer from my friend Johan, he is sooo fun! :) He arrived on Sunday the 10th, hes behaving so well with uni and buttercup :) BIG NEWS ALSO , UNI IS IN FOAL AGAIN :)

@BamvsNoodle "as well as many being able to carry up to 9 stone" they can carry adults, thats what theyre bred for :)

@caitlin735 When a horse is pulling theyre weight its usually with a harness that spreads the weight evenly through out theyre chest and neck. Your weight is solely on his back. No he doesnt look like he is having trouble but that does not mean it wont cause problems in the future.

@BamvsNoodle "For its size, the Shetland is the strongest of all horse and pony breeds. It can pull twice its own weight under circumstances where a draft horse can only pull approximately half its own weight, as well as many being able to carry up to 9 stone – 130 pounds (59 kg)." we weigh less than 9 stone ;) does he look like hes having trouble carrying us? :]

whoah you guys are way to big for that poor pony. Lucky shetlands are strong but just make sure you dont screw his back up.
