I shot this early morning on July 25, 2009. A strong thunderstorm cell crept by the CT coast and produced some incredible lightning for 30+ minutes. Within the first second of this film you can see a lightning vein in front of Charlie's Package Store. I shot this from across the street and realized the lightning was about 20 feet from me after viewing. This is on the corner of Niantic River and Rope Ferry Roads in Waterford, about 400 yards west of the Niantic River. If you pause the film as soon as you start it and watch slowly you'll see what I mean.
Weird. I stopped REALLY early in the video, and the lightning bolt is infront of the building.
