1959 Pontiac Star Chief - 389ci Tri Power (2009)

Finally got the beast running for Hot Rod Magazine's Power Tour 2009. Managed to get a couple ignition wires criss-crossed during initial assembly that I fixed and retorqued the rockers. Little tune-up and timing, she's running great.

Ya, it's a stock cam. I need to rejet the carbs this winter. She was stuttering a bit.

do the end carbs even have normal idle circuits you can adjust, or just built in restrictions? A gob of carbs with not changeable low speed jets and that sort of thing looks like a lot of work to me. I'd like to have a brace of Webers on that thing, but it'd still probably be a headache. They look so cool but work so poorly most of the time. I know where 2 58 Pontiac fuel injection systems used to be, he finally sold them. LOL I got a stock 40 business coupe.
