I've changed my belts and pulleys with variator, takes about 4 to 5 hours to do
if you know one end of a spanner to another, cam blocks are a must and dti helps
but there is a mark on the crank pulley to lower cam cover so simple to find correct timing...like any job paitence and check everything twice.
No worse to work on than any other brand.

The only other flaw is the Bosch Maf sensor, not renowned for its reliability, so much
for german reliability pure myth...
Flat spot at 4000rpm = Maf
Italian style and engineering, who says you have to pilot an appliance..

Do this every 3 years or 36,000 miles and your Alfa romeo will reward you with
rock solid reliability and driver focused performance that always puts a grin on your
face...some use oil so keep an eye on the level its the nature of a high performance
