Scattered Trees / Four Days Straight

Directed by Markus Kneer

In February, Roll Call Records, Consequence of Sound and Scattered Trees recruited four student filmmakers from around the New York City area to create their next music video. The four directors - Markus Kneer, Evan Cohen, Jack Thornton and Chris Draker - were chosen from scores of entries and had just four hours to film the entire video. Markus Kneer's video was chosen as the winner and made the official "Four Days Straight" music video.

This song popped up in my Ipod after I downloaded a sampler album. It's now my favorite song to bicycle to when the going gets rough. Listening to the lyrics added a whole new dimension...it's a powerful song!

Just saw the other video for this song by a different director. Concluded that these guys are just not good actors and should stick to videos of their live gigs. The other video looks like a community college film project. This one is (a bit) better, believe it or not.

I love how the turmoil and butterfly images are up on the wall, but Nate goes up to it, and it clears for a moment, and a beautiful swirl comes out with butterfly, and he keeps it, until he finally has to let it go, but she still sees it and remembers it.
