Not meant to be any sort of impressive stunt painting, just an interesting exercise. I like the idea of beginning my paintings with as much randomness as possible, and what better way to be random than to not be able to see what I'm doing. I have no Idea where this is all headed, but I figured, why not? I might find this an interesting idea to pursue further, or I could find that it's the most hair-brained thing I've ever done.

  • @missmelissamiss25

Thanks very much. I'm having a show this spring in the SF Bay Area and am still in the process of setting up a proper website. I'll keep you posted as things progress.

  • sick as all hell bro!

  • @miavonni

    Thanks.

  • Hey Gloria,

Yes, your dad and I played in a band many years ago. Thanks so much for subscribing and I will check out your drawings as soon as I have a chance.

  • Hey Nikko- I'm on vacation and just now was able to get on the internet. The first thing I did is watch your video! I agree with you & CRW. I liked it best at 4:30 & love the upper right. The magenta line coming over the top might look better and bring it together if it were done with the bottle instead of the brush and it does give it depth but all in all I LOVE IT! Looks like it was fun to do- now you have me wanting to try this. I'm agree with Lisa too- the original strokes are wonderful.

  • @momapes - Thanks Mo for the complement and the critique. I need to do more of these for sure. It's a very interesting exercise, mostly from the standpoint of responding and working with marks that I would never normally make.

  • hi! this is gloria abbate dans daughter and he told me he knew you and you played drums with him. I love this and i love art. I have a couple things i drew on my channel and i would love if you could see it. Thx!

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks - Yeah, I see what you mean. I do like the magenta stripe right at 4:30, but all the stuff on the left after that starts to take away from the overall feel. It's challenging to balance the randomness of the beginning with the conscious image building that follows, but that's what interests me. I always try to work as randomly as possible in the beginning, but this is more like creating a work from something that was done by someone else. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.
