I love when he tells his stories. (Did he pronounce Illinois with an s?! =X )

@banana14k Its a Gold Tone CC-100. I have the exactly one its around $300

great video. The whistling was haunting at the end, I wish he had actually whistled in the studio version.
-
yes. that's weird.
-
I think that one is a gold tone cc-100, maybe.

He plays a few; although in an interview, he said he didn't own his own and borrowed them. The banjo in this show looks like my Epiphone D-100. It costs $149. Dirt cheap. It is hard to tell because Sufjan is hiding the brand behind blue painters tape. Goes to show you don't need a $1,000+ banjo to rock out to the Mistress Witch!!

anyone know what kind of banjo he plays?

In almost all cases, I would agree with you. He does have a very smooth voice in all of his songs. If you see 2:07, you might notice he really struggles to reach that high note. Try singing this song. I have tried and cannot get that note. But I'm being too crital, he really does have an amazing falseto.

I suspect not...he has a nice falseto.

is it wierd to name your son Sufjan?
haha just kidding...
