Boys & Girls - In today's class, we're going to perform a science experiement. It's called - What is the best way to identify a GOOD guitar cable?

So, forget all the crap you've read in your fav guitar magazines, and forget all the marketing mumbo jumbo ... let's put some cables to the test, Tone King style ... and hopefully we'll learn some valuable lessons.

Also - please note :
- This video is 20 minutes.
- The first 5 minutes will help you understand how I am performing the test.
- The next 10 minutes is the test.
- The punchline is @ 14:50 (what we have learned from the tests).
- Some outtakes @ 16:00.

  • bullet cables rule! great review TDr!

  • @GtrDudeL haha. Thx for the comment!

  • Damn Tone King, Your Science is TIGHT!

I've never thought about stuff like that. I started using Monster cables because the ends lasted longer. Never took length in to account either. Good to know. Good job. thanks.

  • @keithg1313 Thanks keith!

  • I just make my own cables. Sounds better than monster and any other high end cable, and its 1/3 the price. I use mogami cable and either full size amphenol or nutrik connectors. learn to solder guys!

  • The signal degragation on the pro co cable is probably coming from the coupling unit of the two 15 footers . Try just one and you will not get the drop . Couplers make a big dB difference with any cable for any device . - Jerry - AKA - HUTCHfromBA .

  • Haha! Started off saying don't bully me but delivered a pretty cool test. How do you think Bullet cables compare to Elixir's 20'? I'm looking to buy either xP

  • Good video, I am going to get a bullet cable.

  • LMAO. The bullet, the monster and THE PIECE OF CRAP. xD HAHAHAHAHA EPIC! THE TONE KING IS FUNNY!

  • ill give you an idea that could work next time you do one of these videos...

use a loop station and record the guitar parts and then just switch between channels.

idk with your setup if that would work or not but just throwing an idea out there.

  • very very interesting test you did... never seen anything like this for real...
