This documentary, part of the 20th Century With Mike Wallace series from CBS News and the History Channel, examines the 1979 fall of the Shah of Iran and the hostage situation that arose from the turmoil. Narrated by series host and CBS News correspondent Mike Wallace, this episode looks at the preceding and following events of the fall of the Iranian leader, with a detailed study of the 444-day hostage crisis where many of the hostages were Americans. 20th Century With Mike Wallace features footage of interviews with many of the people who were intricate players in these events, including President Jimmy Carter, Ayatollah Khomeini, Anwar Sadat, and the Shah. Historians and political experts talk about how those events of the late '70s and early '80s are still affecting relations between Middle Eastern countries and America's relations with the Middle East.

  • SHAME ON GOV... USA.... WE LOVE SHAH

  • History has PROVED AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN that HIM was RIGHT. We all see Mr. Wallace and Ahmadinejad multiple interview. Here is a question to Mike Wallace: Did you really believed what you referred to as " Victims of Torture by SAVAK"?... You see the islamic holy mind of terrorists to day.

  • khalayeq har ch layeq... mardome na sepase iran har balayi ke sareshon biyad haqeshone.

  • @CyrusTab As empty as their heads believe me. The majority are ignorant fools and the 1% who are not are actually amongs the enemy who are spreading on purpose lies and propoganda since the 70's to deface the great Shah. God bless his soul.

  • Sad 2 C only "Kootorand" got it right here.

    Dear "rfma" Wallace had an interview with Rafsanjani just before Khatami camed to office & it's here on Utube.

    Most propably U've seen it.

    Do if U haven't, it's some-what interesting!

    For all of U I wish peace and give U a late NY peresent from Emile Alain who once said;

    Nothing is more dangerous than an idea,

    when you only have one idea.

    It's just says it all.

    My condolences 4 Shahpour Ali Reza.

    God-willing they lead this to the end of it very soon.

  • Khomeini was not the master mind of revolution. The master was Certer, UK and France

  • Almost all Iranians regret the revolution and now love the Shah but it's too late
