Is this also known as 'the Mountain Hawk'...at Mt.Cook we were Warned Not to Let any Paper, Clothing,etc outside our cabin door as it may be attacked/destroyed by the Hawk...
I thought it was Just a Keep NZ Clean ploy!

I can hear the smaller birds churling. One would think they'll be very quiet or quickly fly away with a Hawk in the vicinity

Interesting you should say that but I think the birds on the farm have a false sense of security. Hawks don't like humans and it's the first time I've had chance to video them but with no tripod it was hard.
