@a4Audi2153 The thing is, you've heard stories... Not experienced it yourself. But when the temps get to like -50 at night, and like -10 during the day, its kinda hard to be outside for any length of time. The winds blow the snow that you try to dig out. You're digging with your hands, a old coffee cup you find under the seat, or anything. Its not that productive.

food,,, pop open cans of beens crackers a few box's of dry ser ibst oat meal melt the snow with the tourch use the been cans for cups

I agree that the guy is probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but to all the armchair pundits who say that he should have done this or that, I would dare any one of you to get into that kind of situation unintentionally and still demonstrate your cockiness & tendency to second guess the survivor- however dumb he may be, he did survive, after walking 7 miles- no one knows how deep the snow was and whether he had sneakers or snow boots, so guessing that it's "easy" to walk that long is BS
