Jose is a twelve year old Appaloosa, and hasbeen on our guest ranch for three years. He's been a wrangle horse the entire time-- he's happy with one rider, whether they're beginner, intermediate or advanced. He just doesn't have the patience to change from dude to dude each week all summer long. He's a great horse-- he's voice trained, has soft sides and is responsive. He's been used for lessons in barrels and in equitation, has team penned and gathered cows in the backcountry. He's used to mountain country, and is quite sure-footed. He's packed elk and will lead or pack in your string. He rides English and Western, and has a wonderful rocking horse lope. He's a gem in the arena, and would make a great Western Pleasure or English Pleasure horse. He jumps 2'6" to 2'9" currently, and with training could certainly go further-- he shows an aptitude for it, and never refuses. He is used to being off from November to May, and then saddling right up again in May like a good broke horse should, no hump or buck in him. He's an easy keeper on grass or hay, and doesn't need any supplementing. He's got good feet and hasn't taken a lame step in the years he's been with us-- he is freshly shod (7/29/2010). He is up to date on vaccinations, and loads and trailers like a gentleman. He is not a kicker or a biter, and doesn't have any bad habits. He just doesn't have the patience to take care of multiple dudes-- some days, I don't either! If you're looking for a quality family horse, one your daughter can show in 4-H on and then you can take out in the mountains and haul home camp, this is the right horse for you! $2500 obo
JOSE IS SOLD-- and happily settled at his new home, with a twelve-year-old girl who loves him!
