A tribute to David Whitaker; the composer of one of my favorite film scores ever. His wonderful score to the underrated classic Sword and the Sorcerer is represented here by three of his tracks: Talon and the Mercenaries, the yet unreleased prison cell fanfare and Castle Chase parts 1 & 2. Mr. Whitaker conducts the Graunke Symphony Orchestra.

  • I first heard David’s Music when he played it on a NAFFI piano 1n 1951. Sadly, we lost contact a few years later, so I knew nothing of his subsequent works, before reading his obituary and listening to this video.
