Faith Defenders Robert Morey Falsely Accuses Jim Toungate of Criminal Theft

Radio show host Bob Morey, self proclaimed "expert" & "know-it-all" on cults, was invited to a counter-cult conference involving numerous Christian counter-cult ministries of which "Evangelical Ministries to New Religions" (EMNR) was involved. Jim Toungate attended this conference where two workers (Jim Carrol & Roger Stewart) for EMNR wanted Jim to meet with Morey. The 4 men met in a different room away from the others at the conference (the long version on Yahoo Video, search "Robert
Morey") explains everything. Morey then used this meeting as an opportunity to slander & falsely accuse Toungate of criminal theft nationwide. Hank Hanegraaff, director of the Christian Research Institute & host of the "Bible Answer Man" radio show whose founder was Dr Walter Martin who was a frequent guest on the John Ankerberg Show says "Dr" Robert A. Morey of Faith Defenders, Biblical Thought, Faith Community Church (FCC), California Biblical University and Seminary (CBUS), Bob Morey Live, and Doxological Apologetics is dishonest & unscholarly. Hanegraaff's comments come in reference to a report Morey wrote in his national "Researcher" newsletter attacking Gregory A. Boyd, author of the book, "Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity." Boyd's book was endorsed by Hanegraaff & the CRI staff. In a letter by Dr. Boyd he states, "..."Truth-Seeker Bob [Morey] went after me with a vengence. He was trying to prove Hank Hanegraaff was incompetent in endorsing my book by proving that I was a heretic on the basis of my former book "Trinity and Process". He sent letters around the country telling Christian distributors to stop selling my books because I was (among other things) a process theologian, that I denied the Incarnation, I denied the Trinity!!!, and I was, in short, a closet liberal. His tactics half worked as my book sales dropped significantly. I still get hassaling mail from people about this. Well, to make a long story short, I have never in my life encountered, or even imagined, such blatant malice, deceit, and vile ungodliness -- let alone in someone who taunts himself as a Christian leader. At first I thought this was just an extraordinarily dull person (I had never heard of him before) who couldn't read, who had an extraordinary meglomaniac streak which made him want to be a "scholar." Hence he looked silly. But, as the case wore on, I began to see that the situation was far worse. He 'had' to understand my work enough to know 'how' to distort it. And, I began to see, he had to be lying intentionally to be so consistent and manipulative with them. This man, I finally came to see, WAS EVIL. He's a megalomaniac with a vengence, and so far as I can see, not an ounce of honesty or integrity to curb it with. This man is, in my estimation, very bad for Christianity, and very dangerous." THEDemotivator has made some honest statements from his point of view. The question though, is it worth advertizing an individual who openly tries to take people who get in contact with him for all the money he can? 1 Timothy 3:7 says leaders should have a "good report" which Morey does not have. Morey was recently kicked out of the association of churches called Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals for a litany of sins. He is also under criminal investigation. Check MOREYLINKS

Well, I actually do disagree with Bob Morey on a few things, however I like the videos I put up. I own what, 2 DVDs and a handful of tapes, a couple of which were done on Hank Hanegraff's show. Yeah he is flawed, I'll give you that, but so is Hank.
