This isn't actually a mine shaft. It is an ore transport tunnel at an abandoned open-pit mine. It is well flooded.

  • Where in Ottawa is this?? I've never seen this??

  • i went there and went 400 ft underground and the lift was scary

  • no it's not my whole family works in a mine

  • looks like crawling under a desk

  • to "petermines":

I think you should live a little... if you have trouble breathing, turn around... if you get a chemical head-ache, turn around...

but until then, go out and experience life at its fullest...

  • My Gosh That Looks So Scary.

  • Firstly this is not a shaft it is an adit. The portal suggests that it is unconsolidated ground and hence the need for concrete.

Secondly, it is sheer stupidity to enter abandoned mines under such conditions notwithstanding the risk of oxygen defficiency.

  • What the douche Kevin...no1 goes in sewers, its called draisn totalyl different no1 could ever go in a sewer...

  • haha, she looked like a penguin slidind under that pipe on the ice

  • you guys are insane! I can't think of a worse way to die than drowning under ice, furthermore in a mineshaft. Badass though.
