SpaceX Launches First Falcon 9 Rocket

On June 4, 2010, SpaceX launched its first Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral. This rocket will eventually be used launch cargo and supplies to the International Space Station, launch heavy satellites, and maybe even astronauts.

If they can launch things a lot cheaper now they should try to start a Space Base Solar Power system now

@Avery901 Maybe California will use SpaceX to send up their's in 2016. Or wait until SpaceX's Falcon 9 Heavy version comes out (it will be able to launch more into orbit than the Space Shuttle).
