obviously this is stupid... anyone who goes to this event is responsible in their own way... what does this race proove...? how is it even entertainment...? in days of olde, they raced in a straight line... the circular track is for the benefit of the spectators... they are ultimately responsible for the injury and death of the horses... how can one treat a magnificent animal, as the horse is, to such careless treatment...? this is one spectacle that would die if no one goes to watch it...

LOL, Mr. FishGod, I have friends who have bought ex-chuck horses. Yes, TB's. They were hardly "old" (unless you think 8 is "old".. If they were "washed up, close to being put down", they would not be ideal candidates for chucks. I've heard the same argument about the broncs, that they are next on the slaughter truck. In the same breath, you'll say that they are "bred to buck". Improve rules, and overseeing of these horses. Is that so hard to do, to improve the animals (& humans!) safety?!

@AnimalLeftist I don't think you know where most of these horses come from, when these horses are bought they are old, washed up races horses, close to being put down. the chuckwagon's pretty much gives them a second life, you say that your for all about animal welfare, maybe you should learn about where these animals come from before you open your mouth and start talking about something you have no idea about

@NitrousOxideHi2 , Because I subscribed to this channel? hello? I am not for animal rights. Animals lost their rights when we domesticated them. I am for animal welfare. I don't doubt you love your horses, that the people who do this sport love their horses. I don't believe that this sport is done to purposefully harm the horses. This sport is akin to the Chariot races of "olden times". Maybe it's time to move on? 3-day eventing is looking long and hard at their accidents. So should the chucks.

@AnimalLeftist Everyone has their own opinions. I could say humans are not fit to use computers, because in the "olden days" no one had computers. I'm not saying this is not sad, I am saying if you don't agree with the subject at hand, why the heck waste your time fussing over such petty matters? @AnimalLeftist I can bet you have never even ridden a horse. Draft horses were created for pulling extremely heavy farming equipment A chuck wagon is not heavy. I can pull one by myself. Why don't you become a horse, and let us know if your ignorance pays off. All those Animal Activists are hypocritical people who don't have the facts. If you think a horse is not fit to run a half mile at break neck speed pulling a wagon, why don't we hook you up to the wagon, and see how fast you can run?
