Documentary of 5 Days and 4 nights hiking through New Hampshire's White Mountains during the summer of 2011. We started on the Davis Path around Mt. Crawford and worked our way towards Mt. Washington for the finale. Complete with a lazy trip down on the Cog Railroad to finish things up.

  • Great videos! When were you at the Rocky Branch #2 shelter? I was there this summer, august 15th or 16th

  • @needtowant You didn't miss us by much. We were there during the first week of of August 2011. Can't wait to go back! Although I've been itching to give the mid-west a go as well for our next hike of this length.

  • that was brilliant - really enjoyed it! Stunning views and looks like you had a great time. I live in Ireland so I don't see views like that - all i see is a lot of fields and sheep!

  • @cazscott1 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We should trade plane tickets some time, I'd love to see Ireland as well! I guess the sheep aren't terribly entertaining after a while though. Kind of like squirrels over here... :)

  • @sintax77 lol that would be class - don't think I've ever seen a squirrel! If you go for anymore hikes like this again - do another wee video, it was a great watch! I'll be out lots this summer so I'll try and do one...then you'll see how much more awesome your country side is!! :-)

  • @tiehut Not a veteran myself, but I have much respect for them. I'm just an average civy who prefers to be cautious and prepared. But I do have to admit I'm relieved to find we're of a similar mind-set. When I first saw your post I was afraid this was going to turn into one of those threads were I have to defend my use of the second amendment. Which surprisingly hasn't happened yet, lol.

  • @sintax77 you must be a veteran. i am an army veteran and do not feel comfortable in the woods without a firearm.

  • @tiehut Both. More realistically for the two legged predators, since there aren't too many neighborhood cops around to help you out in the wilderness. And while the .40 cal round is FAR from an ideal defense against bear or moose, trust me it still helps you sleep better. -Just like it does at home :D

  • what's the gun for? wild animals? or dangerous people?

  • @brownie2420 It was filmed with a single Flip Mido HD that I kept in the front hip pocket of my backpack for quick access. I also had it attached to a mini 5 inch flexible tripod (GorrilaPod). This was left on mostly for some additional stability during handheld shots, since the Flip is almost TOO small and subject to shaking. Other than occasionally sitting the tripod down, it's all handheld shots.
