As the United States Congress adjourns for the August summer break, legislators are heading home to their districts. This is the perfect opportunity to visit your elected officials and personally ask for their support of Senate bill (S.1557) and House of Representatives bill (H.R. 718).

These bills would set aside the consent decree and reinstate the National Park Service "Interim Management Strategy" for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area.

see a minute at the point 10may2009 .. this is where the northbound and southbound ocean currents converge forming this point of beach.

this is a beautiful scene, i've not seen a beach or something like this where huge waters converge. In my birth place, the only water that converge are rivers. i love it. I watched your work twice. Is :30 the real spot where they converge ?

yes, it's fascinating & mesmerizing. the beach on the left side faces the east and the beach on the right side faces south. this is infamous "graveyard of the atlantic" where in old days ships would run aground on the shoals that exist offshore of this very beach.

yes it is good therapy. I feel that maybe someday noone may ever be able to go out to "the point" again! may as well share it now thru this venue. this area is richly steeped with history being a crossroads of sorts. Shipping lanes offshore, Croatoan indians, civil war, WW2 german subs in local waters here, (never saw THAT on the news!), shortwave radio first transmitted here, the viability of using airplanes in combat proven here by Gen Billy Mitchell, Blackbeard the pirate & so on...namaste~
